ITI 21st Birthday International Conference

The Rembrandt Hotel, London – 21-22 April 2007

The 20th century has been described as the ‘century of translation’ as well as the ‘century of technical translation’.

What will the 21st century reveal in the worlds of translation and interpreting? To coincide with the Institute’s 21st birthday, ITI will be holding an International Conference in London between the 21st and 22nd April 2007. If you would like to submit a paper or propose a suitable topic for a poster session or conference workshop, we would like to hear from you.

Some themes you might consider are: future developments in the industry; changes and improvements in professional training and practice; the challenges posed by the wider world; new technologies on the horizon; t/i at the heart of global business, of industry and science; communications technology and the rôle of language and translation. There will also be scope for a brief consideration of the history of our industry and of the work of the Institute. The Conference will be held in the prestigious Rembrandt Hotel in the heart of London. We welcome contributions from ITI members and non-members.
