Submitting a contribution

Articles

We welcome academic articles on any subject related to translation or interpreting - from all potential perspectives. We are currently able to consider contributions in English, Italian, French, German and Spanish. Other languages may be considered subject to the availability of trusted peer reviewers.

Important notice: we are aware that our response times have been too slow in the last couple of years. To address this problem we have revised our peer review process as detailed below.

Peer review process
All articles undergo a two-stage review process:

  1. The article is given a preliminary evaluation by the Editorial board. The author is informed of the outcome of this evaluation within 6 weeks of submission
  2. If the article is approved by the Editorial Board, it is then sent to two external referees for a double blind peer review. This process usually takes about 3 months, depending on the availability of suitable referees.

Article length
We encourage authors to restrict themselves to a maximum of 7,000-7,500 words including notes and references.

Please send submissions as a Word document to: submissions@intralinea.org.
We do not accept submissions in PDF format.
Please note that it is not necessary to register on inTRAlinea in order to submit.

Stylesheet: Your submission should comply with our stylesheet which you can download here.

Citation Style Language (CSL) stylesheet: If you use a reference manager (like Zotero or EndNote) you can download our CSL file.

No charges: there are no processing or publication charges with this journal.

Copyright: in line with our non-commerical, open-access policy, authors retain unrestricted copyright and publishing rights over their contributions. We do ask that, in the event of a contribution being re-published in another venue, an acknowledgement of the original publication in this journal be included.

Reviews

We welcome all suggestions for reviews. Please note that a review should be 1500-2500 words in length (unless it is a review article involving more than one publication) . For all enquiries on reviews please write to our review editor at: reviews@intralinea.org
