Senior Researcher position available

Department of Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona

The Department of Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, is interested in hosting a senior researcher funded through the ICREA Senior program. Areas of interest to the Department include interpreting and translation studies (audiovisual translation, reception, localization, specialized translation, etc.) and theoretical and applied linguistics, including computational linguistics.

preference will be given to candidates that complement the Department’s existing research strengths. Candidates can be of any nationality. Native or near-native command of one of the following languages would be highly valued: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, or a sign language.
ICREA (Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies) is a foundation jointly promoted by the Catalan Government, and the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) and will have a call for researcher positions in the early spring. In this year's call ICREA will announce 20 posts for exceptional candidates in any field with excellent leadership capabilities and an outstanding research record. Note that candidates should preferably have obtained their PhD prior to 2009 and must have at least four years of international pre- or postdoctoral research experience. The DTCL will only consider candidates whose credentials are at least at the equivalent of the US associate professor or full professor level.
ICREA researchers are employed directly by ICREA and are associated with a host university or research center in Catalonia. Candidates apply directly to ICREA but require an expression of interest from a host institution.
